JOB POSITION: Junior Software Developer for Technical Test Engineer position
JOB LOCATION: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Software Engineer to join our Workforce Management organization. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Direct participation in creation, development and execution of test automation scripts
• Work as part of a dynamic team in an Agile environment with minimal supervision
• Ensure traceability between product requirements, delivered code and test script verification
• Maintain and extend test coverage, creating appropriate tools, utilities, and automation scripts that assist in functional testing and to create test data
• Share best practices and improve processes within and across product teams
• Become subject matter expert in respective modules, maintain expert functional and technical product knowledge
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• A college or university degree in Computer Science
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in software development
• Software development with experience in Java, Javascript, CSS, C#
• Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills
• General scripting and SQL development skills (SQL queries)
• Understanding of web applications and multi-tiered product architectures
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
• Knowledge of Java, XML, web service, OS (Linux/Windows)
• Knowledge of Javascript
• Knowledge of C#
• Knowledge of CSS
• Background in web technologies and enterprise application implementations in a medium-scale, multi-platform, distributed environment such as Windows Platforms and Linux Distributions
• Background in networking related products with baseline understanding of TCP/IP
• Experience in all stages of application testing, including functional, usability, regression, load/stress and performance testing
