JOB POSITION: Dev Business Analyst, Senior


JOB LOCATION: St Paul, MN


JOB SUMMARY: The Business Analyst position will be responsible for analyzing business requirements and developing detail design specifications for enhancements and regulatory requirements. The Business Analyst serves as the conduit between the customer community, and Infor’s internal stakeholders and is involved at some level throughout the entire product life cycle, from ideation through development to launch. The Business Analyst works directly with product management and development teams to communicate design specifications, brainstorm innovation opportunities and resolve problems with designs. This includes frequent meetings with internal and external customers to better understand requested functionality.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identifies and documents requirements including:
• Develops functional and system design specifications that meet the business requirements of the proposed system.
• Provides business examples and detailed explanation of business tasks and rules, scenarios, data requirements, UI mockups and/or prototypes, use cases and flows to support the needs of Development, Quality Assurance, Training Documentation Teams and Product Support teams.
• Collaborates with Product Management to understand system requirements/functional features and assists them when necessary in order to ensure proper details are provided including priorities.
• Partner with Product Management and Operations team on release communications, customer facing events, internal and external enablement activities and client conferences as a product expert.
• Identifies and documents designs and specifications including:
• Participates in design reviews and on other work product documents derived from requirements or specifications to ensure that the requirements were interpreted correctly.
• Ensures that product designs successfully fulfill the needs that are defined in the business requirements.
• Identifies potential technical problems or design flaws so that preventive action can be taken.
Other tasks assigned including:
• Provides both domain knowledge and product knowledge to development and QA teams.
• Assists in solving problems arising during testing. Reviews test cases when needed. Assists QA team in gathering/creating valid test data and verifying issues for correctness of fixes. Performs ad hoc testing.
• Responsible to provide input on quality, implementation and coding considerations throughout the development lifecycle.
• Assists Customer Support with customer facing issue resolution identifying defects or enhancement requests. Provide possible alternative usage of applications to resolve issues.
• Engages as a subject matter expert on products to support both external and internal groups such as marketing, documentation, training, support, field services and clients. This includes being an expert on the business processes, designs and specifications within their respective area to Infor senior management.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field.
• 5 or more years’ experience in requirements analysis and application design
• A strong customer focus and excellent communication/presentation skills.
• Proficient problem solving, interviewing and fact finding skills.
• Knowledge of PCs/Servers and various software applications.
• Use-case modeling and design documentation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience writing detailed product specification documents.
• Knowledgeable in data analysis, functional design, software development and testing processes.
• Proven presentation skills.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth, rapidly changing environment.
• Strong problem resolution skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Knowledge of software development, processes, models, lifecycles and methodologies.
• Experience in test-planning, design, defect tracking, and automated test case/script creation and execution.
• Flexibility in work hours since the team is Global.

PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
• Deep expertise specific to Core HRMS, Payroll or Finance (specifically GL and AP) business practices.
• Experience with Lawson Software HRM.
• Technical knowledge or experience with development languages (COBOL, XML, etc.).
• Deep understanding of HRMS and Payroll system configuration and administration.
• Deep understanding of self-service related HRMS and Payroll system business practices.
• Software development experience using Agile and other methodologies.
• Deep expertise with HRMS and Payroll regulatory compliance (ACA, FLSA, IRS, etc.)
• Deep expertise of 3rd party vendor interface design and development.
• Functional experience with interface testing of multiple products using XML or Web Services.
