Job Position: Mongoose Cloud Automation Engineer
Job Location: Columbus, OH
Job Responsibilities:
• Work with the Mongoose framework development team to ensure that the multi-tenant offerings of Mongoose and the other Infor applications built on Mongoose have effective and efficient tenant and server provisioning in AWS
• Write application end to end automation
• Design, implement, and deploy cloud infrastructure services for AWS
• Participate in agile virtual scrum teams.
Education and experience:
• A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or 4+ years of professional work experience in a related field
• Experience with Amazon Web Services
• Experience automating Windows applications
• Extensive experience writing Windows Powershell or similar scripts
Required Skills:
An ideal candidate would have 3-5 very strong areas and would have strengths in all the rest. However, the ability to learn an area or technology quickly is more important than a well established, but stale, skill set.
• Cloud
o Experience designing and consuming cloud services, ideally based on Amazon Web Services
o Ability to think in a "cloud-native” manner
• Development
o Ability to write automation code in a common scripting language, such as PowerShell or Python
o Formal development experience is a huge plus
o Experience with Agile development methods
• Networking
o Understanding of fundamental concepts like network security, routing, and load balancing
o Good grasp of standard protocols like TCP/IP, SSH, RDP, etc.
• Operations
o Understanding of operational concepts like change management, on call rotations, escalations, uptime, etc.
o Experience in managing production systems on a very large scale
• OS
o Deep understanding of one of Windows OS
o Experience with writing configuration management recipes (SaltStack, Puppet, Chef, or similar)
• Architecture & Design
o Ability to formalize a design for a variety of audiences
o Willingness to work in a team to design the best possible system without letting ego get in the way
• Security
o Conscious of security concerns
o Healthy fear of implementing an insecure solution
o Experience implementing the principle of least privilege (PoLP) using AWS Identity Access Management and Security Groups (or equivalent)
• Interaction & Communication
o Skilled at writing technical design documents and policies
o Good social interaction with the immediate team as well as other teams
o Ability to work in an extremely geographically distributed company
o Good communication skills across multiple mediums
