JOB POSITION: Global Business Practices Director


JOB LOCATION: USA, Eastern Time Zone


JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this role is to review and make decisions on transactions for the Office of the CEO. Transactions requiring judgment will include software license, SaaS, consulting services, education, and customer satisfaction matters. Other aspects of the role include working proactively with Infor sales teams to structure and manage complex deals, educating the sales teams on policies and deal-structuring models, and working to participate in formulation and drafting of new commercial policies where required. This role will frequently liaise with Infor’s revenue recognition and legal teams, as well as other teams such as cloud operations, the project management office, customer care, and with Infor’s senior and C-level executives. This role will require the candidate also to join customer negotiation calls from time to time to help Infor sales teams talk through challenging issues with customers.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Transaction review and structuring
• Sound business decision making
• Outreach and training for Sales teams
• Communication on transactions with senior management
• Some customer-facing negotiations
• Policy formulation and review
• Complex deal leadership
• Close collaboration with the Sales teams and other internal teams


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Complex software and SaaS transaction structuring
• Strong communication experience required, including experience managing project teams and handling the associated communications
• Bachelor’s degree with masters in business desired, but not required
• Commercial Legal experience in the software sector is a plus, but at minimum should be familiar with the basics of software license agreements and be able to understand and interpret contract terms such as limitation of liability, warranties, indemnities, etc.
• Creating and facilitating creative software and service deal structures
• Ability to manage complex issues across groups that do not report directly into you
• Collaborative and authoritative communication style
• Flexible when working towards goals
• Overall someone who possesses the skills to do the job and who adds that special touch to communications, such that she or he can accomplish the job and those who he/she have worked with have enjoyed the process and respect the decisions made.
• Must possess a keen insight for good business
• Should have exposure to and experience with revenue recognition rules in the software sector, and how those rules play into deal structuring
