POSITION SUMMARY:
Seeking an Accounting Manager responsible for: managing the accounting function of several key back office areas of accounting; completing financial analysis over several key areas of the business; analyzing and improving internal accounting processes; and supporting many areas of the finance and overall business. Position is responsible for month-end accounting to ensure that financial accounting and reporting targets are met or exceeded. Reports to Director of Accounting for North America and works closely with VP of Americas Shared Services Center. Ensures organization adherence to U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Must have excellent financial analysis skills to complete and review several areas of the business including (but not limited to): License revenue, SaaS revenue, hardware revenue, Accounts Receivable Allowance for Doubtful Accounts, Deferred Revenue, Cash EBITDA, Co-Development Software Agreements, and more.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's or Master's accounting degree or equivalent and possess significant experience in accounting or other relevant functions
• Solid working knowledge of accounting principles
• Strong systems and financial analysis skills
• Strong leadership skills
• 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting with 1+ year of leadership responsibility
• Ability to collaborate and work with other departments to gain efficiencies and improve processes
• CPA
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review reconciliations and analyses completed by accounting team and provide relevant feedback where required
• Involved in ensuring that accounting and audit controls are consistently applied
• Assist the VP in monitoring the team's performance and providing inputs in assessing resource requirements
• Direct/manage/supervise team of 4+ Accountants/Sr. Accountants
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations, P&L analyses, and other accounting reports
• Review work submitted by Accountants/Senior Accountants
• Manage the activities of direct reports
• Manage accounting month-end, quarter-end, year-end financial close processes
• Prepare and review accounting reports for delivery to management up to and including executive leadership
• Coordinate and lead daily team activities
• Working manager: expect to spend portion of time performing the work alongside of direct reports
• Assist with and lead management decisions and activities
• Design operational procedures and processes that meet internal and external audit standards and improve efficiency
• Key participant in internal and external audits and special projects
• Provide worldwide Softrax finance support
• Analyze and review several revenue-related deliverables including:
o Contract log vs. General Ledger license revenue reconciliation
o Worldwide license revenue detail
o Worldwide SaaS revenue detail
o Worldwide Hardware revenue detail
o SaaS provisioning & revenue analysis
o Change in deferred SaaS revenue for Cash EBITDA calculation
o Co-Development Software invoicing and accounting analysis
o Accounts Receivable Allowance for Doubtful Accounts calculation for Americas
o Accounts Receivable Allowance for Doubtful Accounts annual lookback analysis
o Lead deferred monthly deferred revenue self-audit
o Lead and participate in GL coding of Accounts Receivable credits
• Review accounting and analysis of hardware revenue & cost
• Prepare and analyze Travel & Expense accrual and ad hoc travel expense analysis
• Become owner and subject matter expert of Infor Close Management tool to maximize efficiency of the Americas monthly, quarterly, annual close calendar
• Track post-close financial statement adjustments prior to 10-Q &/or 10-K filing
• Monitor Sarbanes-Oxley 404 controls to ensure compliance and to improve internal controls
• Prepare & review monthly finance/accounting Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and other key metrics
• Prepare and review quarterly balance sheet performance analysis
• Become resident “data jockey” for financial data contained within the following applications:
o Softrax
o Expense Management (XM10)
o Smartstream (AR, AP, GL, PO)
o CPM (Financial Reporting Tool)
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Excellent analytical ability skills with high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Microsoft Office experience including advanced proficiency with Excel (including advanced formulas, links, and pivot tables)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Solid understanding of accounting principles
• Self-motivated with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to work as a team player and strive for growth within the department and company
• Experience in a large software company environment preferred
• Softrax software experience strongly preferred
