SUMMARY

Directs and oversees high level strategic and tactical decisions for business intelligence tools and applications specific to content for Last Mile Reporting of Cloud Suite Customers. Manage the direction of work effort and tasks to produce, maintain and support the necessary Cloudsuite reporting content provided by the Birst Application. Facilitates organizational Reporting Content and supporting Data strategies for governance, design, implementation, integration and usage.

Responsible for leading the design and maintenance of business intelligence applications. Ensures that the design and use of business analytics, transactional reporting, and intelligence applications enhances business decision making capabilities within the Cloudsuites.

Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Directs a team of business analysts, developers and architects that use business data and Birst content build methods to provide content that provides insight into business performance and suggest area for and methods of improving operations.

Implements analytical approaches and methodologies and assists in the interpretation of results via the Birst Designed Content. May lead teams to collect and analyze external market data to provide benchmarks for comparison purposes adding to the content. Provides weekly management update on the performance of the team. Uses Metrics to report status and performance as to the content built ytd(Year to date, estimate to complete, Burndown rate, Defect tracking and Cloudsuite Coverage. Presents reports to management for use in decision making and strategic planning.

Requires a bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of experience in the field. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals related to the Birst Platform and BI/Reporting overall. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.


Candidate’s profile:
• The successful candidate shall have technical and analytical skills, but also should be capable to work directly with Birst Reporting and Analytic tools, AWS environments, AWS S3 Data lake, Cloud Suites, as well as internal and external business unit stakeholders.
• Demonstrate at least 10 years of technical solutions design/implementation/technical automation experience.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
• Possess experience working within the software development or Internet industries.
• Direct surge teams made up for subcontractors and direct reports to drive and deliver content within a fiscal year timeframe of objectives.
• Work internally in collaborative fashion with other department directors to achieve the goals of the department set forth in MBOs.
• Understanding of application, server, and network performance impacts to reporting both from delivery, design and customer experience.
• Strong understanding of Cloud Provisioning and Automation strategies, methods and tools in order to insure the timely tested delivery of the content to the cloudsuite production tenants.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
• Working knowledge of software development practices and technologies highly desired related to SDLC and the use of BIRST for reporting content.
• Bacholor’s Degree and or MBA, BI Industry certifications.
• Work autonomously and be self-motivated and self-driven.
• Ability to learn & analyze complex, interconnected business processes / systems.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks / projects in a fast-paced and changing environment.

• Knowledge of modern Cloud enterprise platform architectures and technology stack, including Big Data storage and processing solutions.
• Experience in one of more the following technologies:
- Java open source tools and libraries/XML/JSON.
- SQL development.
- developing solutions with Amazon Web Services (AWS environments and Data lake
- Container Design and Use in Reporting design Docker, Kubernetes, or RedHat OpenShift as it may apply to Birst Platform and AWS Data lake
- Knowledge of PKI architecture.
• Knowledge of multi-tier application architecture.
• Knowledge of concurrency and parallel processing algorithms and data structures.
• Up to 50% travel may be required.
