Job Summary: The Solutions Engineers work closely with our Sales organization to provide technical solutions for our prospective and existing customers. Our Sales engineers are responsible for designing solutions that will address and resolve a customer's business issues, while evoking confidence in our technology platform and removing all technical objections in the sales cycle. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of how our technology can solve business issues, possess a consultative sales approach, and value the importance of team work. This position is critical to the success of our sales organization in describing and showing how we provide cost effective solutions that deliver business value to our clients.

Senior Solutions Consultant

Senior Solutions Consultants are fully contributing members of the Solution engineering organization. They have a demonstrated ability to position, demonstrate and perform POC’s on most of our product line and are specialists in one or two areas.
Senior Solution consultants can manage most aspects of the sales cycle with little assistance. They should be able to research, scope and respond to customer requests and take initiative in sharing results with all team members. The can scope, manage and deliver a POC that addresses key business value for the prospect.
Senior Solution Consultants stay up to date on how our demo content and product positioning changes to stay in line with corporate direction and are early adopters of incorporating these changes into demo delivery.
Senior Solution Consultants are emerging leaders within the team. Under direction, they participate in training and mentoring new members of the team.
Responsibilities:

Understand customers’ analytic goals and challenges through successful discovery
Confidently present and articulate the business value of the Birst platform to all levels
Demonstrate the Birst product in a way that clearly differentiates us from the competition
Scope, build, and present custom demos and proof of concepts. This includes data acquisition, ETL, data modeling, and BI creation (reports, charts, analytics, and dashboards)
Be innovate and create new solutions with out-of-the-box thinking
Successfully research and document product, technical, and security responses on RFIs and RFPs
Work as team player by continually learning and sharing new knowledge
Manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously
Be self-motivated, flexible, and take initiative
Be a partner with sales in assisting with planning account strategy
Required Skills and Experience

Familiarity with common RDBMS’ like SQL Server, Oracle, Teraradata, MySQL
Experience with data modeling, ETL, and data warehouse concepts
Experience with BI tools such as MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Qlikview, Spotfire, etc
Experience in a comparable pre-sales position, supporting sales cycles selling BI or other high-value business solutions
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on needs analysis, positioning, and business value identification
Superior presentation and demonstration skills
Working knowledge of multiple industries or functional areas
Broad understanding and ability to articulate the benefits of cloud computing
Able to travel as needed
