JOB POSITION: ERP, Business Analyst

JOB LOCATION: Minneapolis /St. Paul area or remote


JOB SUMMARY:
As a member of the Development team, the Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, documenting and communicating business and functional requirements for assigned product development, product maintenance and support activities; and for contributing to the design and realization of solutions that address these business and functional requirements. The role spans the full software development lifecycle. The position involves interaction with customers, product management, product architects, developers, other business analysts, quality assurance and technical writers. The Business Analyst is expected to possess hands-on understanding of the product functionality and needs of users. This position operates under moderate supervision.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works with the Product Manager and development team to acquire an understanding of the software system requirements and design specifications of the solution.
 Represents requirements using alternative views, such as analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or scenarios, where appropriate.
 Aids in requirements analysis/verification, ensuring that requirement statements are in accordance with approved methodology.
 Breaks down high-level product design concepts into business requirements and detailed functional requirements for development.
 Translate the business requirements into a functional product design documented as and detailed functional requirements for development to use to build the solution.
 Participates in requirements prioritization, release scope definition, control and management.
 Responsible to provide designs and input on coding, quality, and implementation considerations throughout the development lifecycle.
• Identifies and documents designs and specifications including:
 Develops product design specifications and documents according to standard business requirement templates.
 Participates in breaking down high-level business and user requirements into a functional product design and documents as functional requirements.
 Participates in defining quality specifications, external interfaces, screen flows, constraints, and other nonfunctional requirements.
 Identifies user classes and documents user class characteristics/user patterns.
 Communicates product designs to the assigned development and QA teams and work to resolve issues with the product specifications and test plans through the design review process.
 Participates in design and test plan reviews to ensure that the business and functional requirements were interpreted correctly.
 Identifies and recommends resolutions to problems with design processes so as to ensure software quality.
 Ensures that product designs successfully fulfill the needs that are defined in the business requirements.
 Identifies potential technical problems or design flaws so that preventive action can be taken.
• Collaborates on and documents product change orders throughout the software development life cycle.
• Performs research (in the form of internet searches, client visits, reading books, attending seminars, interviewing industry experts, etc.) to augment understanding of business processes and user requirements.
• Keeps abreast with industry trends and practices specific to a domain.
• Provides domain knowledge/product knowledge to development and QA teams and as a subject matter expert on products to support groups such as marketing, documentation, training, support, field services and clients. This includes being an expert on the business processes, designs and specifications that are within their respective area.
• Present designs/product features to stakeholders (internal and external).
• Works with other members of the software development team to plan projects that will require specifications, and designs.
• Evaluates, incorporates and documents product change orders throughout the software development life cycle.
• Exhibits innovation in the development of methods or approaches to solve design issues and development challenges.
• Participate in the design and coordination of user acceptance tests:
• Ensure that requirement and design documents are appropriately distributed, reviewed, discussed, modified, and ultimately approved.
• Carry out integration testing and system testing of new development work as assigned.
• Investigate, validate and prioritize resolution of reported product faults.
• Review and contribute to product release documentation.
• Mentor less experienced business analysts and help in product training for various departments as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of prior business analyst experience identifying and documenting business and functional requirements for healthcare software solutions.
• Minimum of 5 years of expertise in ERP systems
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience of using, supporting or testing software applications.
• Ability to create and present to internal audiences


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• General office environment.
• Moderate levels of stress may occur at times.
• No special physical demands required.
• Ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to work across multiple time zones.

PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Preferred Qualifications:

• Infor CSFSM experience or expertise.
• Infor HCM or WFM experience or expertise.
• Demonstrate ability to recommend innovative enhancements, effective solutions to requirements.
• A working knowledge of modern software design and engineering practices and methodologies.
