Assistant - Materials Management Part time

Job Summary: This position provides a comprehensive array of supply chain services throughout the organization. Primary responsibilities include supply inventory and replenishment, receiving and distribution, equipment management, and mail center duties. All team members are expected to consistently deliver the highest level of service to all customers; demonstrate a willingness and desire to work as part of a team and contribute to a safe and positive work environment; work independently and manage time effectively; follow standards and pay attention to detail.

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives.
  • Effectively uses technology and the Materials Management Information Systems to data enter and create inventory documents.
  • Maintains supplies by utilizing accurate PAR level inventory counts and cycle counting practices.
  • Controls utilization of materials and monitors PAR levels.
  • Accurately verify, retrieve, and/or distribute supplies, materials, and equipment to corresponding departments, including off-site locations as required.
  • Organizes and monitors supplies for expiration dates and package integrity to ensure sterilization is not compromised.

Minimum Qualifications: 18 years of age. Valid driver’s license in the state of Michigan and able to be covered on Oaklawn’s vehicle insurance.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Basic knowledge of PAR inventory and replenishment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and provide outstanding customer service. Possess sound math, counting, and analytical skills and have the ability to move quickly throughout the hospital on stat calls.

Demonstrates accountability, initiative, and urgency. Ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize. Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills with customers and team members via telephone and face to face in a manner that is reflective of our mission, values, and customer service standards. Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work as a team member in a variety of situations.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Constantly stand, walk, reach, see/visual acuity, handle/grasp/feel, bend/twist, stoop/kneel/crouch, talk/hear, lift/carry 1 to 25 lbs. Frequently sit, push/pull, lift/carry 25 to 49 lbs. Occasionally lift/carry 50+ lbs. May be exposed to hazardous materials. Required to drive a vehicle in all kinds of weather.
