Auto Body Tech

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Auto Body Technician is responsible for the performance of routine or specialized work in the repair and refinishing of automotive bodies, panels, frames, or components.

FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT
All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Customer Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort and Casino.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Repair and Body Work of all vehicles used on property. This will include the disassembly of vehicles to expose and assess damage. Document and procure the repairs and parts needed. Preps, sands, removal of dent/scratches, and buffs panels and Auto Body components to be painted. Mixes paint to match existing colors. Tapes windows, trim, or other areas that are not being painted, and applies paint evenly and carefully.
• Performs installation of approved decals on vehicles.
• Performs installation of approved accessories such as lighting, service beds, storage boxes, and safety equipment.
• Provides accurate record keeping to include work performed, cost of repair, and hours spent on the assigned task by the use of service records.
• Performs Metal Fabrication to include welding as necessary.
• Assists the Auto Shop Mechanics as directed by the Auto Shop Lead and/or Supervisor.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

ACCOUNTABILITY: This Auto Body Technician has no Supervisory responsibilities.



QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES


EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION: The ability to solve complex problems and issues with minimal supervision. Any combination of training, education, or experience equivalent to five years in Automotive Body Repair and Vehicle reconditioning required. A.S.E. training and certification in Auto Body Collision Repair is desirable.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, technical documentation, and procedure manuals. This position also requires the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization is required as well.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: This position requires the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. This position also requires the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY: This position requires the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. This position also requires the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions is extremely important to this position.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class “A” gaming license.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• A.S.E. in Auto Body Collision Repair is desirable.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Extensive experience with all related tools, surface preparation, automotive painting.
• Extensive knowledge with a vast array of chemicals, paints, and solvents including the ability to match paint colors and finishes.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have good written, verbal, and telephone communication skills.
• Must have the ability to work with limited supervision with a great amount of initiative.
• Familiar with budget and administrative work.
• Familiar inventory and the storage of hazardous chemicals.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
• Must be a self-starter who is highly motivated and resourceful.
• Must be able to work with a positive attitude in a fast paced and culturally diverse casino environment.
• Must be able to take direction and follow through with assigned tasks.
• Must be flexible and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Experience as an Auto Body Technician
• Experience in an Automotive Service environment.
