Report Writer/BI Analyst

Job Title: Report Writer / Business Intelligence Analyst
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: Enterprise Applications Manager

Summary
The Report Writer/BI Analyst works closely with both Information Technology and customer personnel to provide strategic and tactical reporting solutions for current and future business needs. Responsibilities include the design, development, modification, testing, documentation, distribution, training, and on-going third tier support of business reporting solutions. The Report Writer / BI Analyst works closely with application developers, business analysts, DBA’s, and report users to translate functional and technical specifications into clear and concise business reports. Other responsibilities of the Report Writer / BI Analyst include the development of ad-hoc reports, web reporting solutions, extraction of key data from business applications, business intelligence cube maintenance and enhancements, and maintenance of ETL where required.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
-- BS degree in Computer Science; Programming, or related field.
-- Two (2) years’ work experience analyzing system data and developing enterprise reporting solutions using report structured development life-cycle methodology.
-- Two (2) years’ work experience analyzing and enhancing business intelligence cubes, including constructing SSIS packages to facilitate data warehouse ETL.
-- Excellent knowledge of SQL, data analysis, and needs requirements.
-- Must be proficient in the use of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) 2008 or higher.
-- Must have at least two years experience using various SQL Query and reporting tools.
-- Must have database analysis and design experience with Microsoft SQL Server and other relational databases.
-- Must have experience with MS Visio, MS Project and MS Office.
-- MS Windows 7 and SQL Server 2008 (or higher); AS400/DB2 experience preferred.

Must have very strong analytical skills. Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently. Must be detail oriented. Demonstrate strong research, analysis, communication and follow through skills. Proven ability to learn, adapt and achieve on a daily basis. Ability to work with high degrees of professionalism in a collaborative environment. Ability to work independently and show judgment and initiative to accomplish job duties. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Industry-specific knowledge in Gaming, Accounting, Operations and Marketing is a plus. Must be able to work flexible hours, including hours beyond the normal schedule when necessary. Occasionally, travel may be required as needed.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
