Scrub Tech or LPN Part time $1,000 Bonus

Job Summary: Assists physicians with procedures and functions effectively in obstetrical emergencies.

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives.
  • Provide scrub services in Birth Center operating room.
  • Prepares and tears down delivery tables for vaginal deliveries.
  • Responsible for the preparation of instruments for sterilization.
  • Prepares and restocks LDRP rooms after discharge.
  • Assists with patient care especially in the recovery phase of the delivered patient and in the case of healthy newborns in the nursery setting.
  • Assists with the collection and transportation of specimens.
  • Assists with directing visitors, answers phone, assembling charts and tears them down after discharge.

Minimum Qualifications:   High school diploma or equivalent. BLS. Graduate from an accredited surgical technician program and certified within 12 months of hire or current Licensed Practical Nurse Licensure in the State of Michigan. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills a must. Computer and phone skills are required. Experience in sterile processing or certification preferred.  Knowledge of medical scrub position skills and techniques. Knowledge of Operating Room materials preferred. Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program, certification, or experience preferred; BCLS certification preferred. 

Working Conditions: Work in an unpredictable environment encountering stressful situations and exposure to body fluids and infectious diseases.  May experience traumatic situations including deceased patients.

Physical Requirements:   Constantly stand, walk, see/visual acuity, talk/hear, lift/carry 50+ lbs.  Frequently stand, reach, push/pull, handle/grasp/feel, bend/twist, stoop/kneel/crouch.
