Programmer Analyst/Systems Administrator

Job Summary: Supports, queries and interfaces clinical and financial systems, works with end users to develop processes to make use of system functionality and solve problems

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives.
  • Provides primary support and administrative functions on a variety of hardware and software systems
  • Supports and assists with daily operations and changes on a variety of systems
  • Helps build, support and administer security on clinical and financial systems
  • Assists with integration testing and script writing for upgrades 
  • Assists with, coordinates or applies patches and/or upgrades to applications and operating systems. 
  • Integrates disparate systems
  • Creates automated transfers of data files 
  • Works with Structured Query Languages (SQL) and tools, such as Business Objects to create queries, dashboards and reports
  • Monitors complex relational database environments 
  • Researches and implements solutions to problems and troubleshoots software issues
  • Creates system documentation and standard operating procedures pertaining to programmer/analyst/system administrator supported clinical and financial systems
  • Works with Technical, Ambulatory and Clinical teams on projects and new initiatives

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science,  Information Technology or related field and two (2) years of informatics, Structured Query Languages (SQL) programming, healthcare IT or a commensurate combination of education and experience. Incumbents in this job class may be required to obtain additional specific technical certifications.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of commonly used PC software and hardware, Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access, relational databases and their schemas, file transfer protocols and data analysis.  Skills in interpersonal relationships and customer service, time management, assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands, operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.  The ability to work under pressure and mine for data in relational databases.

Working Conditions:  May be occasionally exposed to hazardous materials or infectious diseases.

Physical Requirements:   Constantly sit, see/visual acuity, handle/grasp/feel, talk/hear.  Frequently reach, lift/carry 1 to 25 lbs.  Occasionally lift/carry 25 to 50+ lbs.
