Greenkeeper II

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Greenkeeper II, under supervision of the Assistant Superintendent or Lead, performs work involving the use of large equipment, including tractors, loaders, trenchers, trucks and other golf course mowing equipment. This position also operates equipment ranging from small hand tools to large motorized machinery and requires some familiarity and understanding of the methods and operations of golf course maintenance.


FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT
All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Customer Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort and Casino.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Operates mowers in cutting greens, tees, collars, approaches, and roughs.
• Maintains sand bunkers.
• Performs course set up and preparation.
• Assists in projects including but not limited to; Aerifing, Topdressing, Fertilizing, Sodding, Seeding, Planting, Edging, and Excavating.
• Maintains landscape areas, trees, streams, lakes, and native environments.
• Operates a wide variety of machinery including Verticutters, Aerifiers, Topdressers, Sprayers,
• Fertilizer Spreaders, Sweepers, and other motorized equipment.
• Performs hole location changing procedures on greens.
• Assist in irrigation repairs
• May apply golf course chemicals and plant protectants.
• Assists in identifying necessary repairs or preventive measures.
• Other duties as assigned


ACCOUNTABILITY: The Greenkeeper II position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION: Less than high school education; and at least 3 years relative golf course experience is preferred to successfully perform this job.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position requires the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. This position also requires the ability to write simple correspondence. Furthermore, this position requires the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: This position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This position also requires the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. This position also requires the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Valid CA Driver’s License
• CA QAC or QAL Pesticide Applicators License
• Irrigation Technical School training preferred

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Requires knowledge of safe, efficient operation of a variety of mechanized or motorized equipment.
• Requires understanding of operating principles of maintenance machinery including cutting mechanisms, patterns of mowing, etc.
• Required to demonstrate proficiency in common practices and routines utilized in golf course maintenance.
• This position is open to those candidates who possess experience and skills acquired through previous golf course employment.
• Required to complete PRC training classes or equivalent
• Need to meet qualifications in order to obtain a gaming license.
