Clinical Supervisor - Marshall Internal & Family

Job Summary: Provides supervision of clinical staff and performs clerical and administrative duties under the direction of the Site Manager.   Provides basic patient care services under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner.

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives.
  • Supervises clinical staff
  • Maintains schedules of all clinical staff; coordinates coverage throughout the clinic where needed.
  • Assists Site Manager with managing clinical supplies, ordering, stocking, inventory management and cost control.
  • Assists in assessing the condition of the patient, and preparing the patient for the examination, as needed
  • Assists in the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) initiatives and adheres to the policies instituted for adherence to PCMH, as applicable.
  • Reports pertinent information to appropriate personnel, and records data accurately and concisely in the patient record.
  • Maintains files and obtains appropriate authorization forms/releases.
  • Assists in the coordination of patient care when scheduled for therapy or procedures in other departments.

Minimum Qualifications: Successful prior experience in a supervisory role.  Current Credentialed, Registered, or Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Michigan. BLS certification within 90 days of hire. 

Knowledge Skills & Abilities: Prior experience in a physician’s office setting. Demonstrated knowledge of computers, insurance, and medical terminology preferred. Knowledge using Athena and staff training experience preferred. The ability to operate standard office equipment including fax, copier, scanner, and computer. Maintains the standards of care and implements the policies and procedures of Oaklawn. Adheres to regulations and standards of accrediting body. Observes universal precautions and complies with OSHA and MIOSHA standards re: blood borne pathogens and biohazard waste. Demonstrates competency in technical and clinical skills, completes skills checklist, and correctly performs these skills daily as requested.

Working Conditions: Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Potentially exposed to infectious diseases.

Physical Requirements:  Constantly see/visual acuity, handle/grasp/feel, talk/hear, taste/smell.  Frequently stand, walk, reach, bend/twist.  Occasionally lift/carry 1 to 50+ lbs.
