Activity TherapistJob Summary: Responsible within the Psychiatric Department for insuring professional service to the patients, hospital staff and hospital departments in accordance with policies set forth by Oaklawn. Coordinates recreation and leisure activities with patients and completion of evaluations activity therapy assessments; provides case management services and discharge planning in conjunction with other disciplines; may provide occasional coverage at other programs. Essential Functions:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Certified Recreational Therapist (CTRS). Handle with Care Basic certification in nonverbal and physical management within Two (2) months of hire and annual re-certification. Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years of recent experience in a hospital or mental health setting. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Experience in developing therapeutic activity groups and programming diversion recreational activities for an inpatient psychiatric population. Knowledge in activity therapy assessment and treatment planning preferred. Working Conditions: Potentially exposed to infectious diseases. Physical Requirements: Constantly sit, see/visual acuity, handle/grasp/feel, talk/hear, lift/carry 1 to 25 lbs. Frequently stand, walk, reach, bend/twist, and lift/carry 25 to 49 lbs. Occasionally lift/carry 50 lbs. |
