Slot Performance Analyst

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Slot Performance Analyst reports to the Director of Planning & Analysis and provides analytical support to the Slot Department. The position is responsible for performing advanced analytics using a variety of strong math, statistics, programming, data mining, and problem solving skills to develop analytical reporting and assist with business recommendations in the Slot Department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Provides daily, weekly and monthly summaries in the area of slot performance to the Director of Slot Operations
•Provides statistical and analytical support in the development, implementation and evaluation of Slot Department programs.
•Make recommendations for machine placement, replacement and/or game conversions if necessary.
•Develop and review analytics to detect system reporting errors and potential fraudulent activity and when applicable assist in researching and resolving issues identified
•Assist in maintaining slot maps in various analytical tools.
•Performs independent analytical research to identify and resolve complex data and validate results
•Perform advanced quantitative and statistical analysis of large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that can be used to improve slot business performance
•Collect and organize data using complex database queries, software systems, and business intelligence tools
•Develop presentations to summarize and communicate key messages to senior management
•Collaborate with others in the organization to develop new ideas and brainstorm potential solutions
•Safeguard of Slot Department areas.
•Enforce departmental SOP’s in accordance with PR&C system of Internal Control (MICS)
•Serve as liaison with Revenue Audit and IT in regard to Slot Department requirements.
•Assists in maintaining Slot files and ensuring the accuracy of slot database information.
•All other relevant duties as assigned.

ACCOUNTABILITY:
This position has supervisory responsibilities that include hiring/termination, corrective actions, and employee relation issues.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, Business Analytics or related analytical field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 3 to 5 years of experience in analytics with a minimum of 2 years experience in slot performance analytics preferred. Familiarity with Big Data environment and concepts and CAD software a plus.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Solid communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to communicate and present complex mathematical information/analytics in business language for management. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Ability to work with many disciplines and management levels across the organization and collaborate to develop new ideas and brainstorm potential solutions. Capable of communicating complex technical information to a non-technical audience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Solid foundation and/or education in mathematics, statistics, probability, or engineering preferred. Ability to work with advanced mathematical concepts and apply to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:
This position requires the ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. This position also requires the ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. The ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables is required as well.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
•Must be able to obtain a Class “A” gaming license.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
•Advanced knowledge of Excel including pivot tables, lookups, charts, graphs and advanced formula writing
•Advanced knowledge of MS Access and/or MS SQL preferred
•Experience with Tableau, Bally CMS (CMP, SDS, Table View, Bally BI), and Business Intelligence software preferred
•Strong cognitive skills including analysis, problem solving, and attention to detail
•Ability to merge data from separate sources and systems for analysis and recommendations
•Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics
•Ability to define problems, collect relevant data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
•Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all departments and all levels of employees and management.
