Application Support Analyst

SUMMARY:

Provides application maintenance and support to minimize service disruption and simplify operations. Investigates and resolves issues with mission-critical software applications by diagnosing root causes.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support computer-aided dispatch, electronic medical records, billing, and other mission-critical applications
  • Assist in the maintenance of applications, including 24x7, high-availability systems
  • Being available for on-call and overtime work required in emergencies and at other times as directed or assigned.
  • Maintain appropriate physical and mental health required to perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Regular and timely physical attendance during assigned work hours.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Conduct application testing, build test scripts, support user application testing, and collect and summarize test data
  • Create and maintain system documentation
  • Contribute to and maintain a knowledge base of previous support issues
  • Train users on applications and help them resolve application issues
  • Create database queries using SQL
  • Automate support tasks using programming/scripting
  • Provides backup to the Business Intelligence Analyst position as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must not have been excluded by the OIG to Participate in Federally Funded Heath Care Programs
  • Three to five years of industry experience
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Firm grasp of Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of scripting, coding and application software
  • Willing to work on weekends and/or after hours
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience installing, configuring or supporting business applications with a track record of career growth and skill development
  • Competence in current Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to create organized and informative reports, as well as comprehensive, accurate documentation
  • A history of working independently without close supervision and demonstrated time management skills
  • Comfortable working directly with end users

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree in Information Technology, Business Management, Organizational Development, or another related discipline
  • Experience in customer service
  • Experience in the healthcare or EMS industry
  • Knowledge of ITIL or other IT Service Management principles
  • Experience supporting premise-based and cloud-based applications
  • Understanding of virtualization technologies and their management
