Physical Therapist Assistant
Job Summary: Promotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist.
Essential Functions: • Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives. • Records therapy, test procedures and results of such as required by hospital and department policy. • Communicates information to appropriate members of the health care team. • Able to functions independently in out-patient and in-patient care areas. • Administers physical therapy treatments including physical agents to patients, working under the direction of and assistant to a Physical Therapist. • Administers active and passive therapeutic exercises. • Observes patients during treatments and compiles data on patient's responses to treatments and progress. Appropriately documents such in the medical record. Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s Degree and current Michigan license as a Physical Therapist Assistant; BLS certification. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: One (1) year hospital experience preferred. Working Conditions: Potentially exposed to infectious diseases. Physical Requirements: Constantly stand, reach, see/visual acuity, handle/grasp/feel, talk/hear. Frequently sit, walk, lift/carry 1 to 25 lbs. Occasionally lift/carry 25 to 50+ lbs. |
