Registered Respiratory TherapistJob Summary: Provides professional care for the comfort and well being of patients. Assesses and plans for patient care during enrollment in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. Observes and maintains records and documentation of patient care, patient condition, reactions and response to treatment and tracks patient progress.
Essential Functions:
Minimum Qualifications: Must be recognized by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). BLS/ACLS certification required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Graduation from an AMA accredited educational program for respiratory therapists is preferred. Thorough knowledge of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, fitness training, pulmonary therapy principles, methods, and techniques, and their proper application; knowledge of all types of mechanical apparatus used in wellness, fitness, respiratory and cardiopulmonary examinations, and home care; knowledge of all medications used in cardiopulmonary care principles and techniques; knowledge of traditional hospital operations and nontraditional care areas applicable to fitness, wellness, and respiratory therapy; thorough knowledge of computer functions and the ability to use computers and related software; knowledge of and ability to accurately assess patient cardiopulmonary status and recommend appropriate intervention; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
Working Conditions: May be occasionally exposed to hazardous materials or infectious diseases.
Physical Requirements: Constantly walk, see/visual acuity, talk/hear. Frequently stand, sit, reach, push/pull, handle/grasp/feel, stoop/kneel/crouch. Occasionally lift/carry 1 to 49 lbs. |
