Casual Department Assistant - Home Care

Job Summary:  Handles administrative duties within the office and performs clerical duties to maintain an organized office.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives.
  • Performs clerical duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, making copies, filing documents, and greeting visitors to the department.
  • Requests and receives required physician documentation for homecare and hospice billing such as Face to Face notes, signed Plans of Care and physician orders using electronic records, automated signature website, fax and mail services.
  • Enters physician documents into McKesson record using electronic tools and digital copies of documents.
  • Organizes patient education and other department materials.
  • Performs initial review for invoicing of equipment.
  • Assists in preparation of meetings and transcribing meeting minutes.
  • Collects and organizes data for analysis and interpretation as directed,assists with completion of department reports as directed.
  • Prepares document drafts.

 

Minimum Qualifications:  High school diploma

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:   Associate’s degree or combination of education and experience is preferred; excellent telephone, written communication and interpersonal skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with data extraction from multiple information systems; proficiency in a variety of computer software programs and/or systems is required; experience using email, electronic calendar, word-processing, and spreadsheets; able to work independently.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

 

Working Conditions:   Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment and is generally sedentary in nature.  

 

Physical Requirements:   Constantly sit, see/visual acuity, talk/hear.  Frequently stand, walk, reach, push/pull, handle/grasp/feel, bend/twist, stoop/kneel/crouch, taste/smell, lift/carry 1 to 49 lbs.  Occasionally lift/carry 50+ lbs.
