MRI Technologist - CasualJob Summary: Perform MRI scan procedures common to Oaklawn Hospital. Essential Functions:
Minimum Qualifications: Registered Radiologic Technologist registered in MRI or registry eligible graduate. Registry eligible technologist must receive MRI certification within two attempts or one year of date of hire. Biannual CPR (BLS) certification. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to effectively operate MRI equipment and techniques. Knowledge of cross sectional anatomy/physiology and disease process. Knowledge of quality control in MRI, all contrast media used in Imaging, i.e., dosage, precautions, adverse reactions and examination appropriateness. Working knowledge of sterile technique. Ability to evaluate MRI images in order to acquire appropriate diagnostic information, integrate diagnostic images, laboratory results, patient history and medical records, and adapt MRI examination as necessary, to use independent judgment to acquire the optimum diagnostic images in each examination performed, to evaluate, synthesize and communicate diagnostic information to the attending physician and/or Radiologist and to communicate effectively with the patient and the health care team, recognizing the special nature of MRI examinations and patients’ needs. Excellent problem solving skills. Skill in interpersonal relationships with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and health care team. Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations. Skilled in monitoring patient responses, assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands and operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications. Working Conditions: May occasionally be exposed to infectious diseases or hazardous materials. This position will take call hours at least 2 days a week. Physical Requirements: Constantly walk, see/visual acuity, handle/grasp/feel, bend/twist, talk/hear. Frequently stand, reach, push/pull, stoop/kneel/crouch, lift/carry 50+ lbs. |
