Lead Mammography TechnologistJob Summary: Mentors and trains other mammography technologists and coordinates schedule with other departments to ensure the day-to-day activities for Women’s center. Works in conjunction with the Manager of Radiology, Diagnostic Services, Radiologists, and other personnel to supervise and perform technical procedures. Essential Functions:
Minimum Qualifications: An associate degree in X-ray Technology or related field with 5 years’ experience in a hospital radiology department. Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Certification. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: According to the needs of the organization, some incumbents in this job class may be required to obtain additional specific technical certifications. Quality Assurance knowledge and commitment to performance improvement. Knowledgeable of MQSA, ASRT and Federal mammography rules. Knowledge of radiological equipment, techniques, and safety; anatomy/physiology and disease process; quality control in a Radiology Department. Skilled in building interpersonal relationships, monitoring patient responses, assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, and problem solving. Working Conditions: May occasionally be exposed to infectious diseases or hazardous materials. Physical Requirements: Constantly walk, see/visual acuity, handle/grasp/feel, bend/twist, talk/hear. Frequently stand, reach, push/pull, stoop/kneel/crouch, lift/carry 50+ lbs. |
