Room Service Operator

Job Title: Room Service Operator
Department: Food and Beverage
Reports To: Dining Shift Supervisor

Answers all incoming calls from in room guests ordering food and beverage, verifying name, room number, order and estimated delivery time. Processes all calls professionally and courteously.

Education and/or Experience
HS/GED required. Previous and similar work experience within an upscale high volume hotel/resort establishment. Must be familiar with POS systems used in hotels and be able to make transactions. Knowledge of Arizona State Liquor Laws - Title 4 and/or Arizona Alcohol Awareness certification a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must possess a Maricopa County Food Handler’s Card.

Other Qualifications
Must possess a pleasant personality and have excellent customer service skills. Must be able to work harmoniously with others and be a team player.

Language Skills
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, secondary smoke and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
