Technical Trainer

Job Title: Technical Trainer

Summary
The Technical Trainer will conduct Network Orientation classes and provide routine enterprise application training based on customers’ needs and will coordinate enterprise application training in collaboration with IT staff, vendors, and internal customers and may assist in specialty applications as requested. The Technical Trainer will assist in the monitoring, tracking and coordination of technical training in conjunction with the IT Training Standards outline within the Learning Management System. The Technical Trainer will assist in the creation of content as required for IT Security and other department needs as necessary. The Technical Trainer will assist in the authoring or may author manuals, and may create/review job aids and other media to improve employee performance. The Technical Trainer will participate in the IT Liaison Program, including all meetings and events. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The Technical Trainer should become certified in new courses according to release plan schedules. The Technical Trainer will act as mentor to all IT employees in the delivery of training of applications and skills training sessions as well as in the creation and maintenance of all documentation following established procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or GED required. Associate’s Degree in education, technology or related field plus one to three years of application training experience, and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of 1 year experience in adult training; 3 years preferred. Experience in Indian gaming is a plus. Practical knowledge and experience with information technology, network security, and infrastructure application best practices.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have technical knowledge of computer operating systems. High level of knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite, including OneNote. Must be internet research savvy. Experience with a learning management tool or knowledge of what the tool can do is expected. Should be proficient in their technical writing skills or training.

Energetic and self-motivated with strong interpersonal, persuasion and facilitation skills with people of different levels, backgrounds and personality types. Ability to express ideas clearly in both oral and written communications.
* Should be able to coordinate multiple priorities and set achievable deadlines. Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously without management supervision would be a plus.
* Should possess the ability to rapidly assimilate and apply new technical knowledge based on departmental and organizational goals and objectives. They should have demonstrated ability to manage, track and staff simultaneous initiatives. Requires direct and demonstrated experience with expense budgeting and cost/benefit analysis. Ability to work with high degrees of professionalism and autonomy are required along with a style that promotes progress through teamwork in a collaborative environment. Good grasp of technology from “big picture” integration perspective.
* Should possess creativity and be comfortable with their technical leadership. Clear logic and analytical skills. Ability to define problems and collects data, establishes facts, and can draw valid conclusions. They should have the ability to develop positive working relationships with vendors and business teams.
* Must be able to work well under time constraints and be able to work flexible hours, including hours beyond the normal schedule when necessary. Occasional travel may be required as needed.

Language Skills
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is exposed to secondary smoke. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
