HR Generalist Casual

Job Summary:  This position is responsible for the reception and triaging customer service needs of those seeking human resource office support including, but not limited to employment, and benefits.  Works closely with the recruiting process to ensure timely and efficient processing of candidates. Support the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives.
  • Serves as a Human Resource Specialist and Oaklawn Ambassador performing a myriad of administrative duties by answering routine inquiries from inside and outside Oaklawn. Giving cursory employment and benefit information, HRM practices and procedures, in compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
  • In conjunction with Employment
    • Prepares new employee personnel files.
    • Prepares and issues employee identification badges.
    • Establishes user ID’s for new employees.
    • Verifies new employment entries.
    • Assist hiring managers with the hiring process using current applicant tracking software.
    • Coordinates Service Awards program.
  • In conjunction with Benefits
    • Administers the FMLA processing for eligible staff.
  • Manages access to the HR staff by screening office visitors by identifying the individuals’ objectives while adhering to access procedures.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Assists with administration of policies and procedures.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of established departmental goals.
  • Assists US800 Education/ Tracking for Pharmacy staff.

Minimum Requirements:  Bachelor's degree or commensurate combination of education and human resources experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: PHR preferred. Knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources administration. Excellent oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion.  Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.  Microsoft Office suite knowledge with a minimum of an intermediate skill level.

Working Conditions:  Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

Physical Requirements:  Constantly sit, see/visual acuity, handle/grasp/feel, talk/hear.  Frequently stand, walk, reach.  Occasionally lift/carry 1 to 25 lbs.
