Outbound Call Representative

JOB TITLE:                Part Time Outbound Call Representative

REPORTS TO:           Mobile Integrated Health Manager

FLSA CLASS:            Non-Exempt

SALARY RANGE:      $15.43 - $19.29 (offers based on applicable experience)

SUMMARY:

 

This role supports the MIH Department by making outbound calls and receiving inbound telephone calls for the purpose of screening and scheduling individuals who will be seen by MedStar's Mobile Integrated Healthcare team.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Generating call lists based on eligibility into Mobile Integrated Healthcare programs
  • Making outbound calls to screen potential program participants
  • Taking inbound calls and providing assistance to the caller
  • Scheduling appointments for participants in to MIH programs
  • Making reminder calls for visits
  • Data entry for appointments and participant updates
  • Maintain appropriate physical and mental health required to perform the essential functions of this job
  • Regular and timely physical attendance during assigned work hours
  • On-call and overtime work required in emergencies and at other times as directed or assigned

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Experience in high volume outbound calling
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong decision making ability
  • Exercises initiative and leadership over routine clerical responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with phone and email inquiries
  • Can handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality
  • Complete other projects and/or responsibilities as assigned by the MIH Manager
  • Ensures strict confidentiality of medical and all other discretionary information
  • Ability to multitask and follow through with complex assignments
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing clerical services related as needed
  • Coordinate organization's incoming and outgoing mail
  • Exercises independent decision-making, problem-solving and collaborative skills
  • Maintains telecommunication system by following manufacturer's instructions for house phone and console operation
  • Assists other agency departments with related clerical duties as assigned

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Air conditioned office environment

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sit for extended periods of time
  • Walk, stand, bend, squat, twist, and reach
  • Simple grasping and fine manipulation
  • Extended keyboarding

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least two years prior clerical support experience
  • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Analytical ability required to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various problems, and prioritize work
  • Must not have been excluded by the OIG to participate in Federally Funded Health Care Programs

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous receptionist and/or office experience
  • Experience in high volume outbound calling
