AssistantJob Summary: Plans, organizes, and monitors the receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or production shops ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
Essential Functions:
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma and one (1) year experience in commercial shipping and receiving. A valid driver’s license in the state of Michigan and able to be covered on Oaklawn’s vehicle insurance. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Capable of estimating weight and calculating the cost of shipping. Familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements. Familiar with most common material handling equipment. Experience with UPS/FEDEX online software is desirable. Required to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math. Must have a good driving record. Working Conditions: May be exposed to hazardous materials. Required to drive a vehicle in all kinds of weather.
Physical Requirements: Constantly stand, walk, reach, see/visual acuity, handle/grasp/feel, bend/twist, stoop/kneel/crouch, talk/hear, lift/carry 1 to 25 lbs. Frequently sit, push/pull, lift/carry 25 to 49 lbs. Occasionally lift/carry 50+ lbs. |
