Sr. Talent Development Specialist

FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT
All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Customer Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort and Casino.

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Senior Talent Development Specialist designs, develops, and delivers talent development solutions, including new hire training, on-going skill building workshops, and leadership development trainings, that build overall capability and maintain a high-quality talent pool. The Senior Talent Development Specialist will work regularly with various Departments and Divisions, and the broader Human Resources/Talent Management team, assisting in driving improvement through key organizational learning initiatives. The Senior Talent Development Specialist must have strong facilitation and instructional design skills with professional experience in learning and development. Success in this role will be heavily dependent upon understanding Pechanga Resort Casino’s unique culture and tailoring solutions to meet the needs of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Designs, develops, and facilitates interactive, meaningful trainings on topics related to the Human Resources function, such as new Team Member onboarding, leadership, guest service, hospitality, and systems
• Designs program materials that include facilitator guides, participant workbooks, presentations and job aids
• Assists with other onboarding programs as needed and defined
• Shares design and facilitation responsibility of the Leadership Development Program and emerging leader programs
• Designs and develops effective and engaging e-learning courses by applying adult learning methodology
• Gathers post-training feedback in accordance with the defined departmental evaluation process
• Assists the Talent Development Manager with learning needs assessments as needed or required
• Builds and maintains strong client and subject matter expert relationships to ensure development needs are identified and addressed through a variety of learning solutions
• Serves as a resource to clients, subject matter experts and Divisional Instructors and assists with quality and coordination of non-Human Resources/Talent Management training initiatives as needed or assigned
• Assists with Organizational Development activities and process improvement initiatives driven from the Human Resources/Talen Management Division
• Assists with global guest service initiatives and quality management initiatives for the organization.
• Engages in marketing strategies to create awareness of the Talent Development Department, Pechanga University, and all other learning resources
• Maintains awareness of current best practices and trends in the area of training and organizational development through continuous education
• Manages large scope projects with direct accountability for project deliverables, and in coordinating and compiling the work of others (e.g., staff resources or external vendors)
• Performs other job related duties as assigned

ACCOUNTABILITY: This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Incumbent is responsible for protecting the assets of Pechanga Resort Casino and for maintaining and providing a positive and professional work environment. Supports and drives the mission and goals of the Talent Development Department through demonstrated behavior and positive attitude. The Senior Talent Development Specialist serves as a coach and performance guide to the Talent Development Specialist in the absence of the Talent Development Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION: A Bachelor's degree Human Resources, Organizational Development, Leadership Development or in a similarly related field plus five (5) years of relevant work experience is required, i.e. facilitating non-technical training. Advanced competency with learning technology tools is also required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. This position also requires the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Furthermore, this position also requires the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must be able to communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences in a public setting.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: This position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This position also requires the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: This position requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. This position also requires the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and the ability to think conceptually and strategically while maintaining a focus on operational excellence.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Qualify to obtain and maintain a class “A” gaming license

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Computer proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Outlook
• Proficient in e-Learning software such as Articulate to create courses on topics ranging from leadership development to compliance training
• Able to work independently, with minimum supervision, collaboratively, and within a diverse environment
• Able to thrive under dynamic and rapidly changing working conditions; able to adapt to change
• Able to prioritize work tasks in accordance with goals and to make effective use of time in an environment with multiple deadlines and priorities
• Knowledge of current technology strategies to support learning
• Able to perform under stressful situations and be flexible in work schedules to accommodate business needs
• Able to establish and control an effective learning environment
• Possess time management and organization; excellent analytical, client relationship management, and problem solving skills

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
• Demonstrated understanding of Adult Learning
• Advanced understanding of Instructional Design Best Practices
• Experience with implementing learning programs using social, mobile, gamification, and micro learning
• Excellent role model, highly motivated, and promotes team building and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain a professional demeanor, confidentiality, and appearance in accordance to approved dress code standards, ethical standards
