Infection Prevention ManagerJob Summary: Responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, and assessment of the organizational Infection Prevention and Control Plan and Program in accordance with current federal, state, local, guidelines and regulations, and accreditation standards. Plans, organizes, and oversees daily management of infection prevention and control activities while providing leadership and management of key initiatives and strategies to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement. Essential Functions:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology bacteriology, medical technology or other clinical area with a strong working knowledge of healthcare processes with knowledge of infection control principles and practices. Five (5) years related work experience in infection control and surveillance. Certification in Infection Control (CIC). Proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs. Preferred Qualifications: MSN or Master’s degree in associated discipline. Previous experience in integrated care delivery system (acute/outpatient). Experience with DNV, TJC, CDC, OSHA, FDA, HCFA/0CMS, or other regulatory/accreditation bodies. Experience in data base management and external reporting systems. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated skills in teaching, communication, problem solving and writing technical policies/procedures. Demonstrates exemplary oral and written data analysis, presentation and communication skills to be able to interact effectively and work collaboratively with all levels of the organization and medical staff. Demonstrated assertiveness, conflict resolution, negotiation and collaboration skills and customer focused interpersonal skills with ability to work well with other in time of stress or crisis. Knowledge of performance improvement monitoring and development of performance improvement indicators and processes. Working Conditions: Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Requires on-site presence, visibility in all settings, making rounds in the hospital and medical group facilities as need arises. Physical Requirements: Constantly see/visual acuity, talk/hear. Frequently sit, handle/grasp/feel. Occasionally lift/carry 1 to 50+ lbs. |
