Lifeguard and Pool Attendant

GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsibilities of the Lifeguard include providing professional and courteous service to every guest, while also ensuring the safety of all patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies and promotes order through administrative duties and facility upkeep.

FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT
All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Customer Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards and Core Values established by Pechanga Resort Casino.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Greets all guests in a courteous manner in accordance with department operating standards
• Recognizes and responds to all situations safely and promptly
• Monitors activities at the pool to prevent accidents and to ensure safety of all guests while in the pool or the pool areas.
• Cautions and educates swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards; enforces and adheres to pool rules and regulations
• Must adhere to the practices of occupational health and safety
• Inspects, monitors, and maintains facilities for cleanliness; performs general pool cleaning and maintenance duties
• Keeps immediate supervisor informed of all problems or unusual events and/or refers difficult situations to their attention for handling
• Responds quickly, intelligently, decisively, and in accordance with the established emergency action plan
• Maintains a cash bank, by receiving and refunding cash on guest accounts or making change. Completes shift closing accurately by obtaining appropriate approval signatures and authorization codes. Performs revenue drops or due backs from cash cage to maintain the assigned amount of the cash bank
• Ensures that all billable services, financial statements, adjustments, revenue, cash and cash equivalents are properly recorded and reported and accurately reflected in Opera and any other reporting methods. Ensures compliance with the requirements of the provisions of Hotel Operation internal controls, Outside Agency Regulations and good business practices
• Remains calm and alert, especially during emergency situations and/or heavy hotel activity, serving as a leader and role model for other employees. Resolves customer concerns and complaints by conducting thorough investigations and determining the most effective solutions all while being efficient and courteous
• Comply with all PRC and Departmental SOPs and Service Guarantees
• Perform other job related duties as assigned

ACCOUNTABILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. This position is also responsible for protecting the assets of Pechanga Resort and Casino and for maintaining and providing a positive and professional work environment.________________________________________
QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION: A High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year of related experience working in a pool/resort setting and /or swim instructor training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred to successfully perform this job.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to remain calm in stressful scenarios and give directions to maintain order and safety. Must be able to effectively communicate with peers, management, and EMS personnel.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY: This position requires the ability to think logically and calmly, and the ability to apply common sense when executing written, oral, or diagram instructions. This position also requires the ability to evaluate and prioritize treatment in the event of medical emergencies, all while maintaining order and the safety of guests.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Must be able to obtain a Class “A” gaming license
• Possession of/or the ability to possess a valid certification in CPR /AED, First-Aid certification
• Possession of/or the ability to possess a valid Shallow Lifeguard and/or other Lifeguard certification

• Ability to withstand high temperatures, heat and sun, and able to work outdoors in inclement weather when necessary
• Ability to work in a loud and/or smoke-filled environment
• Knowledge of pool operations, equipment, and maintenance
• Ability to assist in Spa Pechanga operations when necessary

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be available to work weekends and/or holidays
• Must be flexible with hours and / or shifts
• Maintain favorable working relationships with all departments and team members, to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious work environment
• Able to act independently while analyzing data and drawing conclusions from written and computer generated materials
