Accounting Manager

Job Title: Accounting Manager
Department: Finance
Reports To: Assistant Controller

Summary
Provides comprehensive leadership and administers overall activities of the payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly manages the Accounting Supervisor who in turn directly supervises the Accounts Payable Clerks, Payroll Clerks and the Accounts Receivable Clerks in the Finance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assuring compliance financial regulations, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; providing analysis related to the gaming enterprises.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Accounting; CPA/MBA preferred. Three to five years management/supervisory experience required; five to seven years related professional accounting experience required. Hospitality industry preferred, not required. Payroll and Accounts payable supervisory experienced preferred.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Payroll systems; Crystal or Showcase Report Writer, MS Excel and MS Word. Knowledge of automated timekeeping systems required.

Other Skills and Abilities
Good oral and written communications skills required. Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential data is essential. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. Must present a well-groomed appearance. Must be self-motivated and able to handle more than one function at a time by being well organized. Must have good people management skills and ability to motivate others.

Language Skills
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; sit; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to secondary smoke. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
