Special Events Manager

Reports To: Senior Event Manager

Summary
The Special Event Manager will coordinate the use of meeting space, outlets, facilities, products and services as requested for events. This position is responsible and accountable for the delivery and support of events and event meeting planners along with various hotel and casino operating departments at both Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort. This position will plan and oversee events for various departments to include but not limited to Sales, Entertainment, Marketing, Human Resources and Administration.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
HS Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred; minimum of 2 years work experience in Event Management or related professional area and/or an equivalent combination of formal education, training, certifications and related professional work experience. Experience must include contracting, planning and overseeing execution of events through to final billing.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong PC skills and a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel. Strong knowledge of Delphi and InfoGenesis strongly preferred.

* Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
* Must display initiative and ask appropriate questions to clarify uncertainties.
* Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
* Must have the ability to make sound business decisions based on budgetary restrictions.

Language Skills
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
